  1. Clint, I just listened to episode IV. I am reminded again of your ability to withstand the peer pressure and to cling to your spiritual beliefs. I have always admired the Godly character you have developed. I remember so clearly my time in the Army after my Navy duty. I too was a spec 4 and ran in formation as the platoon sergeant sang about that yellow bird on the window. I too didn’t repeat many of the choruses we sang about Jody. One unit I was assigned to after I left the Infantry unit was an M.P. unit and they decided we needed advanced training at Fort Polk. I was warned about the heat but no one told me about the humidity. All those experiences helped me a great deal for when I was commissioned into the Chaplain Corp. My First Sergeant told me, “Sgt. Thompson don’t you ever take a demotion and become an officer.” I am sure we could share many similar experiences. I am really enjoying your stories, especially since I remember many of those days when you were doing them. I respected you then and my respect has only grown over the years. Keep up the story telling. You are very good at it. And as the Army would say it brings great credit upon yourself and the Lord.

  2. Tim,

    Thanks for the kind note.

I hadn’t realized you “spent time” in Fort Polk. So we are fellow Fort Polk people!
It would be fun just to chat about our experiences.

I really appreciate and honor your work as a chaplain both in the military and in law enforcement. In the last few decades I’ve been able to work with Christians who served as chaplains in various areas — law enforcement, hospitals, the VA. I am so impressed with the importance of their ministries and the impact they had on lives.

I would have loved to have had you as a chaplain when I was in the Army and I know God used you powerfully in your ministry.

    Thanks again for writing, brother.

    Clint
